Wara Cadogan is the worst missionary in the world, stumbling from one big screw up to the next. Supposedly she's serving the Lord in a Bolivian city high in the Andes, but really she's just running from the past. Just when things start to look up, Wara collides with someone running from problems even darker than her own, who is connected to her in a way she could never begin to imagine.
Idealistic Alejo works for an underground Islamic organization, taking out bad guys in his native Bolivia. The moment has come to rid the earth of Franco Salazar, a politician who dredges up raw memories that brought Alejo to the place he is today.
The problem is that Wara happens to be in the way.
No one else was supposed to get hurt, but now the chain reaction is rolling, threatening everything.
How many people is Alejo supposed to let die for justice to finally break free?
Prism Story of CI #1 edition by Rachel Moschell Religion Spirituality eBooks
A action-packed, depth filled tale set in Bolivia, 2017.Wara Cadogan is a missionary in Bolivia, struggling to put her less than perfect past behind her, when she finds herself captured by a Muslim organization known as the Prism.
Alejo is one of the leaders of the Prism, among whom he fights against the many social injustices, but the discovery of a Bible in his native language might just be the beginning of something new.
When Alejo, sees Wara taken hostage by the Prism he knows what he must do. How far will he go to protect her, and at what cost?
This book kept me up late on weeknights, burning the midnight oil! Filled with well-rounded characters, so real that you can't help but believe they are living people, well conveyed descriptions, and plenty of action, Prism brought Bolivia to life right before my eyes.
One of the things that really stands out in this book is the question, how far would you go for your faith? There are devoted Muslims who believe they are paying the highest tribute possible to Allah setting off bombs, killing many innocents among the targeted on one end of the spectrum. And a Christian missionary family that struggles with whether they should fight for what is right at the risk of their ministry.
Prism is a kaleidoscope of colorful characters, my favorite probably being Wara, because of her vulnerability and personal struggles. Alejo was a character that really grew on me as the story progressed and as I got to know him better, and really came to respect his strong sense of determination to stand up for what was right. If I were to tell you about what I liked about each of the characters we would be here all day!
Another reason I liked this book was that I am always fascinated by books about missionaries :)
Overall, Prism is a well-written, heart-pounding read, with spot-on descriptions. I would highly recommend it to pretty much everyone, especially lovers of Christian suspense. This is definitely a five star read. And I eagerly await the next in the series, Reverb.
I actually bought this book for kindle on Amazon.com and was then requested to do a review by the author. I was not required to give a positive review, but only to state my honest opinions. Thank you!

Prism Story of CI #1 edition by Rachel Moschell Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
I enjoy learning about different cultures and seeing life through the perspective of other people. And I enjoy traveling to new places. And I especially enjoy compelling entertainment during long plane, train and car trips that makes the time fly without leaving me feeling like I got slimed. ) For that, I give it five stars. I look forward to Reverb, and I hope this author continues to write! Prism (Story of CI #1)
This book was an all in all great read. The story line was generally easy to follow and created great suspense. I highly recommend this book, but only if someone is willing to get through the first bit. This book reminds me of an apple... A thin peel at the begining that some people just won't try becuase they think it's all they'll be able to taste, and then the sweet juicy center of the book providing the suspense needed. I also would like to thank the author for making this book, and the next one free becuase it makes me want to continue reading the series.
Well miracles still do happen, every time God calls us into the light of His truth. A few typos, but I could and did overlook them; only mention to help editing next time. I really enjoyed this page turning, intoxicating story. I am helpless , I have to read the next book. That is a great way to ensure buyers, give one free, and hook them. I am !
While I did find this to be an engaging read, the story itself felt short and left me feeling it was... unfinished? I know there's a sequel and I'll most likely read it, but as I got into the last fourth of the book, (I won't spoil it) I found myself arching my eyebrow a couple of times with things that were a tad to far outside of even creative license, in my opinion.
Great start to the series. This is a story of personal struggle and running from God set within a religious terrorist organization in Bolivia. It is clear very early on that the author has first hand experience in the culture of the small Bolivian town, which makes for a very real and compelling story backdrop. The main characters are all deeply flawed, and several severely self-tortured by their failings. It is very easy to get caught up in their personal struggles and see the reality of life reflected in their eyes.
I hadn't read any novels in a while and found "Reverb" then realized it was 2nd in a series, so I found Prisim. I have now read both books in the span of about 2 weeks. They both had great character development, the Gospel presented well. Forgiveness was the beautiful theme running through both, that a person can still be used of God despite their past. I was so disappointed when I finished Prisim that there isn't another book now to finish the story! Can't wait for the next book!
Surprise favorite! I don't remember how I first found this book as it was a few years ago, but once I got into it I found it very hard to put down and from there it just kept taking various twists and turns. I liked the intrigue. I read the other two books also, great series.
